Drains that are slow can be an irritating and messy. The first step to clearing a slow drain is to look for obvious obstructions that could be causing the problem. Visually look in the sinks drain or basket strainer. If you see hair or other debris you can remove it with your fingers or tweezers. If removing items does not improve the flow of the drain try plunging the drain. Keep looking occasionally for debris that might come into the sink and remove it before it goes back down the pipe. If plunging your drain does not get results you may have to try an auger. Follow the directions that come with the auger. If these suggestions fail to help, or your find that you have more than one drain that is slow it might be time to call a plumber as you might have blocked or improperly working venting.
